Search firewood near you
Use your exact location first. If there are no suitable current results, search a nearby town or regional centre and confirm whether delivery extends to your address.
Looking for firewood in Canberra and the ACT? Search local marketplace listings, compare delivery or pickup details and check the wood, quantity and total cost before you order.
The ACT is compact, but listing service areas may be described by district, suburb or a surrounding NSW delivery route. Search using your suburb or district and confirm the seller’s exact delivery boundary and any cross-border arrangements.
Use your exact location first. If there are no suitable current results, search a nearby town or regional centre and confirm whether delivery extends to your address.
Ask where the wood came from, how the load is measured, whether delivery reaches your address and whether the quantity and unloading method suit the property. Compare the listing date, seller contact details and current order conditions before paying.
Delivery can be convenient, while pickup may give you more control over timing. The right option depends on the seller, distance, vehicle access, quantity and how the load will be handled at your property.
Confirm the exact suburb or postcode, whether delivery is included, any minimum order and whether extra travel charges apply.
Check the pickup address, collection window, loading method and whether your vehicle or trailer is suitable for the stated load.
Tell the seller about narrow driveways, gates, steep access, low branches, parking limits or a preferred safe unloading point.
Ask for the expected day or window, how delays are handled and whether someone needs to be present when the firewood arrives.
Use these cities and regional centres as location starting points when searching for firewood. Seller stock, delivery and pickup areas are shown through current listings rather than assumed from the place name.
Use the delivery suburb rather than Canberra alone so the seller can confirm access, timing and the most practical unloading point.
Check whether the current listing serves the northern district and whether delivery fees or minimum orders change by suburb.
Search the relevant southern or western district, then confirm driveway access and where the load may be placed safely.
Newer ACT districts and cross-border addresses need an exact postcode check; do not assume an ACT listing automatically includes nearby NSW or vice versa.
Try your suburb or postcode first, then a nearby centre if you need to widen the search.
Search phrases such as seasoned firewood, dry firewood and bulk firewood can describe very different products. Check what the seller means and whether the load suits your intended use.
Ask how long the wood has been stored, how it was protected from rain and whether the seller can provide useful moisture or seasoning information.
Confirm whether the listing is a named species, a hardwood or softwood category, or a mixed load. Do not rely on a photo alone to identify the wood.
Check that the split length and thickness suit your heater, fireplace, pizza oven, fire pit or other intended use before ordering.
Understand whether the offer is stacked volume, loose volume, weight, a bag, a crate or another unit so you can compare like with like.
Firewood prices vary because sellers may quote different species, quantities, units and delivery arrangements. A lower headline price is not automatically a better-value load.
Ask how the load is measured and whether it is stacked or loose. Keep the unit consistent when comparing two offers.
Include delivery fees, minimum-order requirements and any access surcharge. Confirm what is included before accepting a quote.
Buying from a seller and collecting wood yourself involve different checks. If you plan to collect, identify the land manager and confirm the current rules for that exact place.
ACT City Services says collecting living or fallen wood from ACT public land—including roadsides, parks, nature reserves and other open spaces—is illegal. Use a lawful private or commercial source instead of gathering timber from public land, and recheck official advice if circumstances change.
Official source wording checked 21 August 2026. This is general information, not legal advice. Firewood Fetch does not issue collection permits.

Search Firewood Fetch using your suburb, town or postcode, then compare the current information independent sellers provide. If results are limited, broaden the search to nearby centres such as Canberra, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Tuggeranong, Woden Valley, Weston Creek, Molonglo Valley. Listings and service areas can change, so check the current seller details before ordering.
Firewood delivery depends on each seller’s service area, minimum order, timing and access requirements. Check whether delivery is included or charged separately, where the wood will be unloaded and whether the seller reaches your exact address.
There is no single statewide firewood price. The quoted cost can change with species or mix, dryness, quantity, measurement method, packaging, travel distance, delivery and seasonal demand. Compare the total delivered price and the amount of wood—not just the headline number.
Ask the seller how the wood was stored and seasoned, whether moisture information is available and whether the piece size suits your heater, fireplace, pizza oven or fire pit. Store delivered wood off the ground and protected from rain while allowing airflow.
